THE GOSPEL DEATH DESTROYER

In the beginning, Adam, the progenitor of humanity, introduced death into the world. (1 Cor 15:21).

Satan took the authority from Adam and man became a slave. Satan held man under the captive of sin and death.

As a result, death passed upon all men and even over them who had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. (Rom 5:12)

Since then, man could build cities, man could gather wealth but the disease called death, he could not solve. Death was reigning and dominating over humanity.

The sad news was that, man could not reach God and God also could not relate with man as his God.

For this reason, God left His dwelling place and packaged himself in the mortality, the body that is subject to decay, corruption, infirmity and death in order to take in the bullet called sin and death which for centuries proved too heavy and impossible for humanity to solve.

God came face to face with sin and death. The amazing part is that, He collected all the sins of the world unto Himself and died the death of a criminal on behalf of all men. But on the third day, the grave failed to contain Him; He rose from the dead rendering sin and death useless.

And the devil that had the power of death was defeated resoundingly.

(Heb 2:14) Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

(Heb 2:15) And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

But now He has the keys of hell and death.

(Rev 1:18) I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Christ’s resurrection abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

(2Ti 1:10) But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

The word abolished is from the Greek word “katargeo¯which implies to render/be entirely idle (useless), abolish, cease, cumber, deliver, destroy, do away, become (make) of no (none, without) effect, bring (come) to nought, put away (down), vanish away, or make void.

Jesus as the doctor and healer of the world did not just give us an antidote He made himself one with humanity. A doctor who entered inside a patient and takes over the disease of a patient until that disease dissolves itself inside a doctor.

When He rose, He carried a patient with him into an immortal and eternal life.

Now through the gospel, death is abolished. Life and immortality are brought to light for a man to receive.
