When you become angry or bitter

Prayer: “Holy Father, there is anger in my heart and I cannot root it out. I know that I should calm down and trust You to heal the hurt and disappointment, but my emotion is running away with me. Lord Jesus, help me to overcome this weakness and give me peace of heart as well as mind. Help me Father, to love the things that you love, hate the things you hate, weep over what breaks your heart, and laugh and shout with you when you are delighted. And when I come upon something that angers me, remind me to pray and ask you to intervene and make the change. Let me learn from this experience and grow into a better human being.” In Jesus’ name, Amen

Confirming Scripture: “Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: (27) Neither give place to the devil.” Ephesians 4:26-27 (KJV). See also: Matt 5:22; Ro 12:14-21; Pr 29:22; Ps 37:8.
