How To Get Favor With God   Index

___________________________________________________________________________________

We all need favor. It is essential for success in all areas of our lives... Grace makes it possible for a man to function without struggle, while favor causes a man to receive without asking, and when we have favor with God, He will give us favor with men. With God on our side, success is guaranteed.“ It does not matter what your circumstances are, one of the ways God shows His goodness to people is through divine favor. If you have a relationship with Jesus Christ, you are a born again member of the kingdom of God, you are blessed, and a privileged recipient of divine favor."

You now have a God given right, power and authority to get results, have prayers answered, live in abundance. and have victory in your marriages, finances and health. (3john 1:2, deut. 8:18). A righteous man obtains favor from God, and God will only bless us when we live according to His laws and according to the laws of the land. (jos. 1:8, 2chr. 7:14).

Divine Favor is defined as:

(a) Friendly regard shown towards another especially by a superior.

(b) Gracious kindness

(c) A special privilege or right granted or conceded

(d) Something done or granted out of goodwill, rather than from justice or for remuneration.

(e) Excessive kindness or unfair partiality or preferential treatment.

…(Joshua 1:8). 3 John 1:2).

Some Biblical Examples of God's Divine Favor:

Joseph had favor with his father. His father loved him so much he gave him a coat of many colors. Joseph had favor with God also, even as a slave, the Bible says the Lord was with him and he was a prosperous man.

Daniel was a slave in a foreign land but rose to high-level leadership, because God gave him favor.

The woman with the issue of blood experienced the favor of God because of her level of faith. (Luke 8 : 43 - 48)

Solomon is another example. Following in the footsteps of his father David, Solomon worshiped God, always enlarging his offerings to Him. After one particular offering, the Lord spoke to Solomon in a dream and asked, "Ask! What shall I give you?" Solomon did not ask for wealth, long life, or vengeance on his enemies. Instead, he asked for wisdom. God took even more liking to Solomon because he was unselfish in his request and gave him the wisdom he asked for, plus all that he did not. This was divine favor.

Jesus had favor with God and with men...

To repent means to turn away from sin and turn to God for forgiveness. According to scripture, we have all sinned, and fall short of the glory of God.

2. Seek God -  Seek first the Kingdom of God & all things will be added unto you...”.(Proverbs 122: ) Submit to God Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Seek God with all your heart with all your mind, with all your soul for to you will be given the promises of God to those who seek him. Persue Personal Relationship with God, Love the Lord, Delight Yourself in Him, Be Thankful, Bless and Praise His Name. 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of need. Psalm, Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his counts with praise; be thankful unto him and bless his name’ (Psalm 100 : 4)

3. Pursue Personal Relationship with Jesus. JESUS IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE... John 14. We are to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world. Our manner of life should be as was the life of Jesus.... imitators of God. From this we understand that to be a follower of God is to live or act in a manner like Him. “Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness” (1 Timothy 4:7). Discipline puts into daily practice our commitment to live a godly life. It begins in the mind. “Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect” (Romans 12:2).

4. Obey the Word of God - Keep His Commandments (Titus 2:11-12) “For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favor wilt thou compass him as with a shield”.(Psalm 5:12)  A good man obtaineth favor of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will He condemn”.(Proverbs 122: )

5. Develop in love (John 13:34-35) Love One Another... Love is the anointing. Be rooted and grounded in love. (Romans 8:36-39) (1 Cor. 13: ) - Show Favor to Others.” Blessed are the merciful; for they shall obtain mercy” Mathew 5 : 7 Brethren, the level of favor you enjoy is a reflection of the level to which you favor others. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”Psalm 1:1

6. Forgive Quickly. God will only forgive you, if you forgive others.

7. Humble Yourself & Pray (James 4:6) Be Joyful. Fruit of the spirit is joy

8. Faith as a Grain of Mustard Seed Focus your faith in the right direction

9. Give Generously (2Cor. 9:6-9) The law of seedtime and harvest controls the issue of favor. Do you want to walk in favour? Then be a person of favour... "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over shall men give unto your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you" (Luke 6:38).(1 Cor. 13).
