Should partakers be able to understand the ceremony, that it isn’t just a meal, that the ingredients are representative of something special? Remember that this ordinance began as part of Passover. Jesus was a kosher Jew, and He would have selected a kosher site for this event.

Passover has a higher level of kosher than typical.

What was different about this time of year?

Exodus 12

14 And this day shall be unto you for a

memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the

LORD throughout your generations; ye
