Apologetics is a word that some people are scared of for really no reason at all. Put in the simplest terms, it is knowing why you believe something.

Children that believe in Santa Claus will tell you that they believe because someone (many times the parents) told them about him. They might mention that there are a lot of television specials about him as well.

That is the foundation of their faith in their belief.

Their honest trust in the people who told them this doesn’t make Santa any more real.

Just because someone tells you something; just because you’ve heard it all your life; in fact, just because you’ve heard something in a sermon doesn’t mean it was right. Unchecked but trusted facts can lead to heresy; Scripture even tells us to try the spirits.

This book contains scripture to back up our beliefs, and is the first in a series of books to equip anyone with the facts to prove or disprove their beliefs.

This purpose of this isn’t to insult anyone; its sole intention is to explain what the Bible teaches in a kind but straightforward way.

These are not Baptist beliefs, they are Biblical beliefs, told in a non-complicated (we hope) way.

Thank you, and God bless.

The Facts About the Rapture

What we believe concerning the rapture can have many different effects on us as believers. I live in Florida, and on more than one occasion, we’ve experienced strong hurricanes. When we’re warned of one of these, we make preparations; we stock up on non-perishable food (in case the power goes out); water, in case our water supply becomes non-purified and we can’t boil it because our stoves are electric.

We buy enough batteries for anything that uses them, including flashlights and radios, among other things.

It is only because we are warned of the storm that allows us to prepare for it. If earthquakes had early warning, five or six days in advance, those warnings, I am sure, would not go unheeded.

We all know and have witnessed to those unsaved around us, and many times this witnessing involves the return of Jesus. Those who believe in the pre-tribulation rapture probably tell how the next event on God’s calendar is the rapture of the saved, and how bad the world would be afterwards, warning them that they don’t want to be here when that happens.

If they have the timing of the rapture wrong, when these events in Revelation come to pass, two things will be different. First, they are wondering why they are still here, and that (they believe) the Bible was wrong, and if that’s the case, what else was it wrong concerning? They can end up with a broken spirit.

The Facts About the Rapture

Second, those that they witnessed to will have no reason to believe anything they were told about the Bible because this one thing that they are part of, these events, show that they were lied to about the Bible, and this can harden a heart.

Without any preparation, living in these times would be even more difficult than it should be; it’s already expected to be demanding.

In this study, we want you to see why a pre-tribulation rapture is a heresy, and the mid-tribulation belief stands up to scripture.

We will look first at the prophesy of the 70 weeks, giving us the timeframe of these events.

70 Weeks of Daniel

The seventieth week of Daniel is quickly approaching, for those wanting a refresher course, or simply to see our perspective on it, let us go into a little detail at this point.

Daniel chapter 9 contains what is arguably the most important prophecy recorded, for it shows the timetable of God’s plan of redemption.

Daniel 9

24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy

people and upon thy holy city, to finish the

transgression, and to make an end of sins,

and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and

to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to

seal up the vision and prophecy, and to

anoint the most Holy. 25 Know therefore

and understand, that from the going forth of

the commandment to restore and to build

Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince

shall be seven weeks, and threescore and

two weeks: the street shall be built again,

and the wall, even in troublous times. 26

And after threescore and two weeks shall

Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and

the people of the prince that shall come shall

destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the

end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto

covenant with many for one week: and in

the midst of the week he shall cause the

sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for
