Companions (r.a.) who migrated to Medina were later became known as the “Muhajireens or the emigrants”.
During this same night of conspiracy he left Mecca with his most beloved companion Abu Bakr (r.a.). The journey progressed towards the South. Here both of them stayed at a mountain cave known as “Thwar” (Ref.: Qur’an Chapter 9:40). They stayed here for almost three nights.
From here the onward journey was in the Northern direction. Medina is at a distance of 250 miles from the city of Mecca.
