For Empathy
Am I empathetic?
Am I sympathetic?
When someone turns to me
Do I share hope and empathy?
Do I foster kindness to those grieving with sympathy?
Am I compassionate and honor them with dignity?
Am I letting them know I care, and that they’re not alone?
While welcoming them into my hearts home?
Do I make that loving call?
Or do I think only of myself and stall?
Lord let me always be kind and humble
For each life is precious and fragile
I believe that the more we give to our sisters and brother
Our cups run over
With blessings from our Higher Power
In the end everyone feels so much better
For we are all in this together
