CHAPTER 11

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are One God

All three names carry equal authority: Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

[Matthew 28:19]

The three are interchangeable:

But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. [Romans 8:9-10]

Also:

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. [2 Cor. 13:14]

God’s Holy Spirit is also the Spirit of his Son, who was sent forth from the Father:

And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”

Also:

There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. [1 Cor 12:4-6]

Eternal life is found by knowing God the Father, and Jesus Christ:

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. [John 17:3]
