Most leaders will at least pretend that they are “servants of the people”, but the antichrist and his government will not bother to hide the fact that they are predatory, brutal, and SAVAGE! The antichrist is the “BEAST” and God help you if you should fall under his power and authority. The beast is also the man of “LAWLESSNESS”; therefore, even the semblance of law and justice will be absent from his government.
2Th 2:3 Do not let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, Lexham English Bible.
The antichrist will demand that everyone be his abject slaves and worshippers, or they will die. This “beast” world ruler will be like Hitler and Caligula on steroids.
Rev 13:15 And it was given to him to put breath into the image of the beast, in order that the image of the beast both spoke and caused that all those, unless they worshiped the image of the beast, should be killed.
There are many antichrist type figures in the Bible: Nimrod, the Pharaoh of Moses, King Ahab of Israel, Nebuchadnezzar II, Antiochus IV, Herod the Great. However, I believe they will all pale in comparison to the “last antichrist”, who will be arising on the world stage shortly. I believe that as the United States decreases in power and prestige around the world, the man of sin will become more and more prominent in world affairs.
Dan 8:23 And at the end of their kingdom, when the transgressions are completed, a king will arise, fierce in countenance and skilled in riddles.
Dan 8:24 And his power will grow, but not by his own power, and he will cause fearful destruction, and he will succeed and he will act, and he will destroy the mighty and the people of the holy ones.
Dan 8:25 And by his planning he will make a success of deceit by his hand, and in his mind he will boast, and in their ease he will destroy many, and even against the prince of princes he will rise up, and he will be broken, but not by human hands.
Just like the poor and lowly flocked around Jesus, the rich and powerful will flock around the antichrist. Jesus is patient and kind, the antichrist will be rash and cruel. Jesus is meek and gentle, but the antichrist will be arrogant and violent. Everywhere Jesus went there was healing and resurrection power, everywhere the antichrist goes there will be destruction and death. Jesus was indwelt by the Holy Spirit, the antichrist will be indwelt by Satan’s spirit.
Rev 13:3 And one of its heads appeared as though slaughtered to death, and its fatal wound had been healed. And the whole earth was astonished and followed after the beast.
Rev 13:4 And they worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast, and who is able to make war with him?
Rev 13:5 And a mouth was given to him speaking great things and blasphemies, and authority to act was given to him for forty-two months.
Rev 13:6 And he opened his mouth for blasphemies toward God, to blaspheme his name and his dwelling, those who live in heaven.
Rev 13:7 And it was given to him to make war with the saints and to conquer them. And authority was given to him over every tribe and people and language and nation.
Rev 13:8 And all those who live on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name is not written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slaughtered.
