Your best life now?
Does God's word teach us (we that are Christians) that our best life is now living here on this earth? I don't think so, but the opposite. We shouldn't go by what man or some book written by a man says about when a person will have their best life. We should always believe the truth of God's word over a person who would and does pervert the truth of the Bible, for their own gain.
What do you think Apostle Paul of the bible would had said if someone would had told him that he could have his best life now. Think about after Paul had been stoned by the Jews and carried out of the city being unconscious. Then after Paul had regained consciousness someone came to him and said: you can have your best life now.
Acts 14:19-20 And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing he had been dead. Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up...
Or when Paul was in prison being held for doing nothing more then speaking the truth of Jesus Christ and teaching the only way a person could be saved is through Him (Christ Jesus). What if a person came to Paul while he was locked up in that prison and handed him a book through the prison bars, that said "Your best life now", I could only imagine what he would had said to that person who had handed him a book like that. Maybe he would had told that person:
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he (God) hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 13:5
Or maybe he would had told him: (But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death. Philippians 3:7-10)
Or last he may had said: (But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. 1 Tim- othy 6:6-12)
So we that are Christians shouldn't believe our best life is now, because God's word doesn't teach that.
1 John 2:15-16 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
John 16:33 - These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.
In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Romans 8:18 - For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time [are] not worthy [to be compared] with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
1 Peter 4:12-13 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
Now there is one way a person can have their best life now, and that is by one dying in their sins being not saved---Then yes, this is their best life now, because hell will be the life to come for the lost person who dies in their sins, being not saved. I pray that will not be you.
But we that are saved. Our best life is the life to come where there will be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain. And we will forever be with God our Father, Jesus Christ our savior, and others who died being saved.
Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
