The Storm
I could feel a colder breeze on my bare feet as I lay down in fetal position in soft grass. I curled up for warmth and felt goosebumps on my forearms. As I opened my eyes it was dark as night, only a soft light of the moon casting shadows from the trees, the same I had seen before, only now it felt different.
I looked up, there seemed to be a million stars in the night sky. I heard an owl in the distance and the wind blowing in the treetops. There lay autumn leaves around me and I shivered. It was still pretty but it didn’t have the same softness to it as it had before and I felt a bit scared and alone.
I pushed myself off the ground and stood up, hugging myself for warmth. Looking around I couldn’t see anybody. It felt eerie.
“Peter!” I called out. Hoping that he would just appear.
