In Ireland there is a sub-cultural group of people called Tinkers. These are travelling people who long ago came to Ireland and were almost always rejected by the "country folk". In 1952 they were outcast and distinguished by poverty and homelessness. This is the story of one tinker lass who did her utmost to flee this sect or culture.
