Chapter XVI.

I boarded Flight Number 768 (LOT; Polish Airlines), at 2:20 p.m. Odessa Time. The plane reached the Frederick Chopin International Airport at 4:20 p.m. (late) in Okecie, Poland (suburb of Warsaw).

The scheduled time was 3:45 p.m. Our tardiness made little difference, as our plane headed to Chicago was grounded, due to technical difficulties. This would prove to have a ripple effect.

Due to the Polish/English language barrier, I had difficulty in one phase of the Okecie Customs Control area. At the very beginning, you present your ticket to the desk of bi-lingual Polish Airlines staff attendant crew. English worked fine at the first stage.

Stage Two; the large Polish individual manning the metal detector (spoke only Polish), and was trying to shove me through the unit.

I cannot go through a metal detector unit, due to the fact that I have a metal detector implant device. As I re-attempted Stage Two, I had the LOT flight attendant explain the situation to the person, and then they pushed me through a six inch crack that exists between the wall and the side of the metal detector.

Stage Three; I have to take off my shoes, put them into the tray to be scanned, as well as my carry-on bag. Then I was wanded down. I get out of my chair to leave. Someone asks me if I have dropped my wallet on the ground, as I have.

I did a quick hip-check, and discovered that I have. I respond, Nyet, then Nicht, then No. I was nervous, I suppose.
