Chapter XIII.

On August 6, 2010, Philippe Salvador Hayden dies of a heart attack.  Erica’s husband is buried in a golden casket, in Alta Mesa Memorial Park. Erica  reads Philippe Salvador Hayden’s eulogy.

In his will, Mr. Hayden leaves his wife, Erica Sabrina Hayden, sole  ownership of his business.

Two months following the death of Philippe, Erica sells the law office to her  two business partners, Tamara Feines and Gabriella Dillard.

Erica’s son, Eric Brauer Hirsch, and Erica’s daughter-in-law, Katherine  Baum Hirsch, relocate to California.

Eric and Katherine Hirsch retire from their respective law practices in  Chicago, sell their home in Barrington, and assume roles on the board of  directors for Hayden & Company.

Erica Sabrina Hayden is the company’s C.E.O., Eric Brauer Hirsch is the  C.F.O., and Katherine Baum Hirsch is the Senior Vice-President & Chief  Marketing Officer.

Erica retires in 2012, due to her desire to retire. She draws a handsome  pension, and Eric Hirsch takes over as President and C.E.O. of the company  that same year.

Eric’s wife, Katherine Hirsch, takes over as C.F.O. and Senior Vice- President.

The name of the company changes from Hayden & Company, to Hayden &  Hirsch.

Since moving to Palo Alto in 2012, Katherine and Eric have been attending  Trinity Lutheran Church. Eric’s mother Erica has been attending that same  church ever since her late second husband (Philippe Hayden) and her  were married in Chicago.
