He picked up the device and spoke into it pleading.

“Emilia, honey, it’s your uncle once again. We can talk about this, let them go. Your father would not want this for you. Listen to your me, I’m still your favorite uncle. please come out and I would get you all the help you need. Please your mom is here, crying her eyes out. Please!” he angrily smashed the device; he was handed another one. Everyone understood how frustrated he was.

The Lawken family was a family, that prided themselves to be a law-enforcement family and a wealthy family: producing the most decorated officers for the past eight decades in the whole of Vellomn. They were loved by the whole metropolis, because they were a family of means, with many of them serving in law-enforcement for the good of all.

But about eight years ago, tragedy struck the family when one of the most decorated police office in the history of the metropolis was gunned down in front of a candy shop… before the very eyes of his little daughter, that young girl was Emilia, she was barely nine years old. She witnessed the murder of her father, every other witness refused to testify, she herself was helpless, she didn’t see their faces. By the help of her mutant gift, she matched the soul of one of them. For Emilia every soul had a unique-soul-print and she could read them and match most of them, she revealed this at her dad’s murder trial but the Velmin judge thought her deranged and with time, the case was dismissed for want of evidence. That day, Emilia suffered from what the mutants called the Mildroid: it is when a mutant heart is corrupted and is converted to the dark side: it could be temporary or permanent. At this point the mutant has a very slim chance of coming back to the right path. The greatest psychopaths and killer mutant were those who suffered it as a child; because as a child, the mind is the believed to still be flexible and can be easily manipulated and solidified by evil. But for an adult, the mind is rigid and can only suffer phases or seizure of Mildroid. There was a story of a mutant man, who came back from work one day and suffered a phase of Mildroid and almost killed his whole family, but Emilia’s Dad who was a policeman patrolling that area intervened and saved the life of that family.

Viom was feeling the pressure to let the special squad to move in, but he knew that they didn’t stand a Chance against his niece. Emilia had grown in power and strength and only a mutant squad stood a chance. He knew that he had to move before the Concealers arrived. He wanted to go in, but who would protect her from outside, he had to stay outside if she would survive. Plus, Sarah, Emilia’s mom was crying her eyes out in the back of his rover-van, all effort to send her home had proved abortive.

A year after the death of Mike Lawkens, Sarah’s husband, she fell in love with a cartel thug and married him. He abused the young Emilia, all effort by Emilia to tell her mom was abortive, she thought that her daughter was just been mean and dubious as usual. Carlos was a perfect gentleman in Sarah’s eyes. One day when Emilia was fourteen, Carlos attempted to rape her, she cut off his hands and plucked out his eyes before killing him in cold blood. Emilia was sent to the John-north Mental Asylums. For Velmins (non-mutants) it was just any asylum, but for mutants it was one of the mass prisons where the Jixor cult locked up mutant criminals. She suffered there for years, without love or care and affection. It was there that she grew so powerful and mastered the Synud (Ancient mutant secrets of the universe). She broke out six months ago and had tried to notify the people of the existence of Jixor agents in the mist of Velmins, in power, everywhere. But she was labelled mad and evil, but today she intended to prove it to the whole metropolis on metropolitan TV. Viom knew that if she succeeds, another war would break out once again and worse of all, it would provoke the Jixor-Cult.
