At approximately midnight, a mini jet arrived not too far from where Marlo’s jet had crash landed. A fervent wind blew through a long blue colored hair. A slight cough came from the tall dark stranger that exited the mini jet with the blue haired lady.

A clear candescent moon shone an unusual vibrant bright red as the newcomers stood on the island of planet Mycene. Alistair’s eyes focused on the incredibly high trees of the island. He muttered 286

something under his breath which was impossible for Bethea to hear. Bethea shook her long blue hair and turned to look at Alistair. She glared at him in great annoyance.

“Have you no manners? We have to find them!

Do you hear me?” Bethea cried out despairingly.

Alistair shook his head in disgust as to Bethea’s obstinate nature and demanding behavior.

“I heard some drumming sounds. I think there are some other people on this island perhaps conducting some sort of ritual. We have a few weapons on us – maybe we could capture one of them,” Alistair replied dryly.

287

“What kind of nonsensical talk is this? I can’t hear anything! Besides, if there were some people on this island conducting a ritual, capturing one of them would be a very foolish thing to do!” Bethea scolded.

She suddenly felt even more annoyed with Alistair than ever.

“I thought I heard some women chanting. Be silent and listen to the howling of the wind. Listen to the sounds that are being carried through the wind.

Listen!” Alistair yelled out sinisterly but enigmatically.

There was a sudden wave of silence as Bethea stood by Alistair, straining her ears to capture the 288

sounds that were possibly being carried by the raging winds.

After a few minutes, faint sounds of chanting and drumming drifted through the howling winds and reached Bethea’s strained left ear. A drop of blood suddenly fell from Bethea’s left ear and she quickly dried the little blood from her sore ear with a dark violet cloak she had on.

“I know where it’s coming from – have no fear.

We have to go towards the right direction, take a left turn and we will find an obscure spot to view the people chanting. It shouldn’t take long to decide whether they're harmless or not,” Bethea insisted 289

without any hesitance.

Alistair sighed sadly. He drew out a few weapons that they had come with and followed Bethea reluctantly.

They finally came to a foggy area with several bushes not far from where the drumming was coming from. Images of several warrior women dancing and chanting came to Bethea and Alistair’s view through the sparse fog. There were several other warrior women drumming and a few others holding bowls of animal blood. The slaughtered animals lay on a large altar encircled with tons of salt.

A warrior Queen stepped before the altar and 290

smiled at her several loyal warrior women.

“The moon has not deceived us. We are in the hour of truth. We have intruders!” Queen Vera yelled out. She quickly pulled out the flower of truth. The black rose glared a furious red and a bright golden light emerged from it.

Within seconds the power of the flower had zapped Bethea and Alistair into an animal cage.

Alistair tried to break out of the cage with the weapons that they had brought along, but it was impossible. There was a powerful force barrier around the cage. Queen Vera walked towards the intruders with a victorious look expressed upon her 291

face. Her shimmering golden brown hair was pulled back away from her handsome face.

“Why are you intruders here? Are you looking for three young men by any chance? Do the names Kristan, Karlos and Marlo ring a bell?” Queen Vera questioned curiously but within the depths of her very soul she already believed and knew the intruders were indeed in search for Marlo and his friends.

Bethea glared angrily at Queen Vera through the cage. Alistair tried to calm her down by patting her on the back.

“Stop that! Stop patting me on the back. You idiot! You have caused us to be caged like animals!”

292

Bethea hissed out angrily towards Alistair.

Queen Vera stood before the caged intruders and let out a raucous laugh.

“You were already caged the moment you arrived on this island. You caged yourselves on the hour of truth,” Queen Vera informed them sadly.

Bethea glared at Alistair furiously.

“It was my dearest servant. He was the one that caused me to decide to hide behind the bushes. He raised a fear in me which caused me to assume you were dangerous creatures,” Bethea admitted. Queen Vera moved closer to the caged intruders and growled at them viciously.

293

“You are a liar, what are your names?” Queen Vera questioned the intruders forcefully. She quickly pulled out the flower of truth and a bright red light shone from the flower onto the caged intruders.

Suddenly, a powerful force took over Bethea and Alistair causing them to pour out the whole truth as to why they came to the island of planet Mycene.

“I’m Bethea and this is my dedicated and loyal servant Alistair. Alistair’s plan was to capture one of the women here and force her to help us to find Marlo and his loved ones,” Bethea confessed. Queen Vera continued to laugh uncontrollably.

“Is it not a wicked thing to force others? Bethea 294

and Alistair, you are both deceitful but the flower of truth has made you both confess the actual truth. You didn’t need our assistance to find your friend Marlo.

All you both had to do was to go in search of them yourselves. You came with weapons after all, did you not? I cannot get you out of that cage. Only the truth will set you both free,” Queen Vera finally replied.

Alistair and Bethea cried out in dismay as the warrior Queen made her way away from the cage and disappeared into the night with her fellow warrior women. There was a dead silence in the woods. The only comfort Alistair and Bethea had was the distant sound of the hooting of an owl.

295

It wasn’t long when it was finally dawn. Bethea had rested her head on Alistair’s head as she had drifted off into a deep sleep. She awoke at the snap of dawn and noticed the cage that she had slept in was slightly ajar. Bethea quickly pushed the cage door open and awoke Alistair quickly.

“Our truth has set us free. Let us get out of this cage,” Bethea told Alistair and hurriedly crawled out of the cage. Alistair was about to follow Bethea out of the cage, when the cage door suddenly snapped shut. Bethea jumped back in shock as to the power around the cage. She rushed towards the cage door to try to yank it open but it just glowed a furious red.

296

A hand suddenly tapped Bethea from behind, which made Bethea yell out in disbelief. She turned around to see a warrior-like woman standing behind her, smiling. There was a tall young man with golden brown hair, standing by the warrior woman’s side.

The warrior woman quickly introduced herself to Bethea as Risti.

“Don’t be afraid. The cage will not open because Alistair has not confessed his truth,” Risti told Bethea sadly. Bethea wondered if there was something else that Alistair was hiding from her. Risti continued to smile hopefully at Bethea.

“Don’t worry. If the truth can not set him free it 297

will find him out one day. Peter open the cage so Alistair will be free,” Risti instructed the young man.

Bethea looked on quietly at Peter and then turned her gaze back towards Risti.

“Who is he? I don’t remember seeing any men at the ritual last night besides Alistair,” Bethea questioned. She was rather astounded as to the presence of the tall young man with his sparkling baby blue eyes. Risti chuckled a bit as to the surprised look on Bethea’s face.

“Peter is my cousin. I have been hiding him from the warrior women for quite a while. He is pure of heart and has the gift to open that cage and set your 298

servant free,” Risti replied saintly.

At that very moment Peter opened the cage and helped Alistair out of the cage. Alistair thanked Peter and insisted they got a move on in finding Marlo and his loved ones. Risti warned Bethea and Alistair that there might be trouble ahead and then she disappeared into the clutches of the early hours of dawn with Peter.

Bethea and Alistair continued to roam about the island in a clueless manner until they caught sight of a massive prison building. The sight of blood thirsty men guarding the prison entrance made Bethea cringe.

299

“I hope Marlo and the others aren’t inside those prisons. We need to find a form of disguise. Think of something you moron!” Bethea snapped out anxiously. Alistair closed his eyes and thought pensively.

“We have no other choice but to capture two of those men with the weapons we came with and grab their clothes. Their dressing is very different from ours,” Alistair warned Bethea. He was also clad in a dark deep violet attire with a dark violet cloak. It was rather similar to the cloak Bethea had, wrapped around her shoulders. Bethea shook her head in agreement. She was about to instruct Alistair to get 300

ready to launch an attack on two men standing closer to the prison’s entrance gates, when she suddenly caught sight of a robot guard moving about with a sensor detector.

“Alistair, wait! There’s a sensor detector on that robot. We have to move fast. Give me the de-sensor weapon we came with. We are not going to be caught and imprisoned like animals again,” Bethea muttered out loudly. Alistair pulled out a weapon with a de-sensor device installed on it. He quickly switched on the de-sensor plus the weapon. At the count of three, a bright green light emerged from the weapon causing a strong electric current to burst through the 301

prison gates electrifying all the guards standing outside the prisons.
