Evidence for the presence of a priesthood includes an area inside the temple complex away from the altar of sacrifice inside the central congregational hall, that some scholars have interpreted as a housing area. Cooking appears to have been done away from this designated area, so the reality is labeled as inconclusive by scholars at large, since there exists no level of refuse consistent with living quarters.
