Nura’s Diary

Dear diary,

Today we visited a bookstore and I decided to start a diary. Sam says I’m five or six years old but we can’t be sure. He’s really old and tall and has a bush of a beard! He also drinks a lot of stinky brown stuff. He taught me to write and read and says I’m gifted, but I’m not sure about that.

Sam got angry at me because I wandered by myself in the empty halls of a bookstore. I told him I heard Lena asking me to play with her but he didn’t care. He says I should stop being childish and grow up, and to always have a light on me and never go alone anywhere! I just miss Lena...

We are burning boring old books in the bookstore now to stay warm and I can still hear Lena and other stuff. Sam says they are not real and to never leave the light. He seems sad and often looks at a picture of a beautiful woman. He doesn’t talk much lately.

It’s getting dark and it’s hard to write. Bye for now.
