11.5. Standard parts and components

Standard parts in this device could include the tank 15 with the float 13 and the transmission mechanisms to the scale as well as all connections. Standard could also be all couplings and seals included in the hydraulics.

The gear Z5 rotates the dial ring via an eccentrically positioned pin engaging with one saw tooth of the ring with each single rotation. We install the time indicating hand fastened on a stand over the lampshade [14]. The time measuring device thus arranged could be used for other applications involving reasonable air or other gas flow. We get for the torque on the rotor of the fan blade:

For one blade α=15°,
Cy – coefficient depending on the shape of the blade, for example = 1.2 ρ = 1/8 = 0.125 for normal atmospheric conditions
S - the surface area of the blade.
As for our case V = V of the hot air flow and if we assume V≈0.2m/sec and

the force is applied in the point r = 2/3R for S = 0.0007m2,
Then Ry = 1.2 . 1.0.22/16 . 0.0007 = 0.000020 N
For n=20 R = 0.1m
For α = 15° cosα = 0.99
MR = 0 . 0.00002 . 0.1 . 0.99 = 0.000039 (Nm)
