RESPONSIBILITY TENDENCY OF A SUPERSTAR

Society has too many problems. There are major catastrophes happening every day; flood storms, wars, food shortages, water shortages. Many economies are torn apart and nations find it difficult to feed its people. Nations are helpless in the face of people who are destined to die.

Superstars take responsibility. They respond with their ability and find solutions to the many challenges of society. You are a solution; you have to see yourself as one. You have the ability to be one.

Michael Jackson had to write the "heal the world" song to bring attention to the health and environmental challenges of the world. He co-produced another song “we are the world” and sang it with many of the world’s superstars to bring attention and to raise funds for nations such as Haiti which suffered from natural disasters.

Three times world footballer of the year, Christiano Ronaldo had to sell one of his golden shoes award for millions of dollars to raise funds for famine prone Syrians.

Those who become superstars have a huge responsibility to society. The higher you go, the more people look up to you, and chance is the higher your response ability to meet the people’s challenges.

The resources at the disposal of the superstar and the ease with which he can get resources make it even easier to reach a hand to solve society’s problems. Superstar status arrives for the man who would stretch his hands to lift people up. The more of those you lift up, the brighter you shine.

Bill Gates spends billions of dollars every year supporting humanitarian courses across the world with his Bill and Melinda foundation. He has great resources as the richest man in the world and he is using it well.

African musical icon Akon is lighting Africa with his light Africa project. He may not have as much finance as Bill Gates has but he is using his status to attract support from individuals and companies who are also keying to it.

The time of your stardom is actually when you get to carry burdens. Those you raise, raise people who will also raise people. You necessarily do not need to come in contact with those who look up to you. Truth is, a superstar has so many persons who look up to him who have never known him.

Best-selling author and preacher, Joel Osteen had featured on the Bill Cosby show where he was asked by Bill Cosby if Jesus was the way to God. Joel Osteen replied that it was up to God to decide. But his followers thought he got it wrong, many of them Joel never knew. Joel pastors a church of about 45000 but those that follow are in their millions.

You can make efforts to reach people not necessarily by having a direct contact with them. You can write a book, organize seminars, create movies, create music passing the information or resources you want them to have.

Your financial resources aren’t meant for the bank. They are meant to be used. Make a deliberate effort to make a certain percentage of what you earn go into the hands of those who need your hand. You’d have no profit if your brother is dying by your side and you close your eyes to him. It is not just your ability to respond that characterizes your response ability, it is your desire to use the ability.

God blesses people who offer hands to help people. Superstars enjoy increased blessings from God and you can enjoy these blessings as much as you stretch your hands to offer help.

Are you responsible? If you can’t answer that, forget your superstar status. You will get down very soon.

You have to make a definite effort to mentor people. You can’t afford to shine alone. You won’t take more glory for that. You become even bigger when other stars are finding their shining capacity around you.

The sun and moon are both lights of the earth. The sun shines during the day while the moon shines during the night. The major difference between these two lights is that while the sun is the superstar, the moon is its protégé. The moon shines because the sun reflects its light on it. Those you help shine are like the moon. They carry your glory with them.

Those you are responsible to always find a way to recognize your effort and they often feel contented with trying to be like you. Good news is, you define how far they go by how far you go. That’s a responsibility.

You have a huge responsibility on your shoulders. What you have to do is put yourself under. It is only when you bring hands down from your high position can you lift others up.
