Personal Wedding Websites – the Future has Arrived

There is no denying that the innovation of the internet has made a vast difference to our lives as it continues to influence the various aspects of everyday life. The concept of the wedding website has come into its own and is a great boon for couples. Rather than having to deal with the stress of talking to countless people who all have questions to ask, couples can now post their information on the site and send the link to family and friends.

Using a wedding website to serve as an information portal and means of communication between the wedding couple and family and friends, has helped do away with the hassle and stress of talking to everyone by telephone. All of the details of the wedding can be posted on the site. For example, you can put a picture of the church together with a map and directions to get there. This will help save the couple the endless bother of having to explain over and over again to people the directions for getting to the church.

There are several free online sites that offer tools and advice for setting up a wedding site. If you are good with computers you can do a more than satisfactory job by yourself. Alternatively you could get professional help from one of the companies offering this service. The free sites allow a very limited amount of posting of information and probably only one picture, so it may be better to take a paid subscription.

Post photos beginning with the story of your romantic involvement, move on to the engagement and then give all the information you can relevant to the wedding and the reception. Some guidelines on what to have on your wedding site are given below to help you get started.

* Have an interactive guest book page where your visitors can leave their good wishes for the soon to be married couple.

*Put the information relating to the wedding service, time, venue and directions, add a map if possible or add links for people to use to find the map. Add similar information about the reception - venue, time and directions.

* You can have a link to your gift registry on the site because this is the kind of information one simply does not put in an invitation. This is a great way to let people know where you are registered.

* One very useful purpose served by a wedding website is you can get your RSVPs done online. Track who has not responded and send reminders and save yourself time and money, not forgetting the stress of an added task.

In short, make the most of your wedding website and enjoy the planning!
