Happiness Trigger 7

Walk Away From Unhappy Situations

I love this trigger and I have seen many people using this to be happy. At times, we are amongst people who make us unhappy, in the midst of situations that create sorrow and we just remain there. Why do we do that? For instance, we are invited to go with friends for a movie that is sure to break our heart and make us unhappy. We even go to the theatre, but soon realize that the movie is not good. Should we force ourselves to watch it or can we walk out of the theatre? Of course, we can opt for the latter! Of course, we can! Why pour sorrow into our mug of life and be unhappy.

At times, when somebody is watching a TV program that is negative or the family is discussing a negative topic, you don't need to participate in such a negative event. You can gracefully excuse yourself. We must remind ourselves that some situations may not be under our control, but where we are and what we do is in our hands. We can choose to walk away from unhappy situations, but when we don't, we permit happiness to dissolve and be lost. Therefore, we must pull this trigger and move out before it is too late. In my life, I have made it a habit not to accept anything that is negative whether it is people, thoughts or circumstances that rob me of my happiness. I just pull this trigger and it is so easy. I just walk away from unhappy situations. Try it and it will result in you being happy.
