Tina was three and her brother was a year old. Tina learnt to live on little from an early age. Yes, her family moved to the town and stayed in Tina’s mother’s friend’s home for a while. Her friend helped Tina’s mother to buy a cheap cottage, chicks and a calf. Soon Tina’s mother was rearing up poultry in the outside of her cottage.

She would feed the chicks and calf. The chicks slowly grew up to hens and cocks and the calf to a small cow. The hens started laying eggs – some of which she kept for her family and some she sold off. The small cow having grown up, Tina’s mother bought a bull to partner with her. A calf was born and the cow started milking. Tina’s mother sold much of the milk and kept a little for her family. She was learning to rear up poultry farming fast.

About her children, Tiny now 12 and her brother, 10 were attending school. It was a school with low tuition fees which
