Nine fun facts

It is quite possible that you have seen a few sights of Barcelona and maybe not realized.

1) La Sagrada Familia

The most iconic sight of this city would be Gaudi’s La Sagrada Familia. The neat thing about this church is that it has been under construction for the past 100 years. The basilica is expected to be completed by the year 2026.

2) Parc Güell

Staying with the theme of experiencing the brilliant architecture of Antoni Gaudi, the gardens he designed at Parc Güell are stunning to watch, surrounded by colorful mosaic walls. Like La Sagrada Familia, Parc Güell has become a UNESCO World Heritage site.

3) Golden, Sandy Beaches

Barcelona beaches are beautifully kept, as far as the eye can see with a stunning view of the Mediterranean Sea. The harbor area was actually completely overhauled for the 1992 Summer Olympic Games, and since then the entire area has been kept in pristine condition. It is now one of the most popular beach destinations in Europe.

4) Shopping in La Rambla

La Rambla is a famous shopping and market area in which you can find higher end designer stores on the same street as a flea market. A completely tree-lined pedestrian mall is 0.75 mile long, divided into 5 different avenues! The amount of eateries that line this area will ensure that you will never have a shortage of food.

5) Food

On the topic of food, make sure you try the traditional Spanish cuisine such as tapas, Paella, gazpacho and fresh seafood.

6) Dance Shows

For those who do not want to do the typical touristy things, Barcelona hosts a local flamenco dance show.

7) A nightlife like no other

Barcelona also has a very happening and famous nightlife with live music shows and huge multi-level dance clubs that attract both tourists and the locals.

8) Great, Budget Hotels
