Valeriea nn was rai sed on a farm in G eorgeto wn, Idaho. H er close associ ation with anim als and na ture while growing up has resulted in a d eep love for and connection to all things. She is a unique creator with a desire to help others get in touch with their inner self, their divine creator within and come to know the universe as a vibrant presence in their life.

As a professional oil painter, she has taught art lessons for nineteen years, helping m any better know and express their feel ings abo ut themselves, life , and the world a round them through art.

Valerieann is married to Alan K. Skinner and they have six children. That gives you an idea of what she does when she is not painting, writing, teaching, or creating in any one of a variety of ways.

On the spring equinox of 1997, she found herself in the heart of America painting 1 2 inspire d painting s in one da y at a pla ce call ed Ada m-on-D iahman. She was di rected thro ugh the spiri t to begin b y facing e ast. Her directio n was to p aint one canvas e ach hour, turning 30 to the right each time, until six o'clock in the evening, when she would comple te a full circle and 1 2 paintings. During the Summer and Winter Solstices that same year, she was directed to paint at one of the ancie nt Maya n ruins in Pal enque, M exico. Valerieann's experiences in these places as well as others have profoundly affected her life and are the reason she began writing.
