 Chapter 8

They met back in Chokaro’s room. With a wave of his

hand he was able to display every universe that existed. As a process of elimination he chose the one in which they were located. Next, he chose planet Earth. “These warriors will never die. Their bodies may change but their strength will live on. My angel is ready; what say you brothers?” questioned Chokaro.

“Mine is ready.” “As is mine,” answered the two in  unison. Chokaro raised Earth into the center of the room.  Chokaro slowly breathed in and out, a green glow illuminated inside of him and came out. “My warrior is named the Jade

Magician, he is a warrior of mystical powers and will be a great aid for Earth,” he said, shooting the glow into the center of the room, into Earth.

“My turn,” said Fukurokuju, repeating the breathy ritual  Chokaro had just displayed. “My warrior is an Illusionist; using the power of deception against his opponents,” he said, holding a blue glow in front of him he shot it towards Earth.  Bishamon, god of war, stepped up to reveal his angel. A  white glow protruded from his chest. “My warrior is simple with no special powers but for a true warrior’s heart, strength, a mind set, his only special gift is the gift of extreme balance, Goldenflame,” he said shooting the white glow to Earth.

“Now all we have to do is wait,” said Chokaro.

“And let things run its course,” continued Fukurokuju.

What the three Gods did not know was that just outside  their door sat the servant god Hikaro; who had been listening to every word they had spoken. This was a good plan, he thought to himself. These warriors were a part of the gods morphed into beings of incredible power. With all their power however, they had made a mistake. As a team they would be unstoppable, but they would never be able to work together. Their strength and power will only drive them to turn on one another he thought.  Despite his status as a simple servant god, Hikaro had a plan.

He breathed in and out slowly. A red glow escaped him and as quickly as he could so that the Kings would not see; he shot his glow to Earth. She will be the tie that binds them, he thought to himself, the Komodo Dragon.

“There is a fourth!” exclaimed Gonzo. “I knew it, I  could sense it in you,” he continued muttering to himself.  Suddenly he turned on us. He looked straight at me with those crazy eyes of his. “You are Goldenflame,” he stated.

“What?” I questioned, taking a step back.

“That armor that keeps appearing along your skin, it’s a  part of you. The sudden quickness about you lately; your  powers are coming to you,” said Gonzo.

“You’re insane,” said Adam putting himself between me  and Gonzo.

“You’re the one talking to a ghost,” retorted Gonzo.  Turning back to me he said, “You wear the shard of two moons; you are Goldenflame.”

“Goldenflame is a dude,” I said pointing towards the  Gods.

“Not anymore,” he grinned. “And you!” he said pointing  at Liz. “You are Illusionist; my guess is that you’ve conjured things, probably without even realizing it.”

The coffee, I thought to myself.  “I don’t know what you’re talking about, I want out of  here,” said Liz.

“You wear the ring of endless light; there is no doubt  about it. You are Illusionist.”

“This?” she questioned holding up the hand in which her  ring resided. “I got this out of a cereal box!” she shrieked with anger and confusion. She grabbed her ring and threw it to the ground.

“We’re out of here,” declared Adam, grabbing Liz and  Me.

“Where are you going to go?” inquired Gonzo, “You  don’t even know where your friend is.”

This struck a chord; quick as lightning Adam turned to  face Gonzo. Suppressed anger flashed across his face. The only sign of this was the tightness of his jaw and the fire in his eyes.

 “Where is she,” he growled.

“We better hurry,” said Gonzo, turning all corporeal and  seeping into the floor. Adam threw himself to the floor as if ready to seep right through it himself. “Ah son of a…”

It was dark. Where am I, where are my friends? Out of  the bleak opaque of darkness Carmen managed to spot a small glimmer of light ahead of her. She stood, “Hello? Is anyone there?” her voice echoing into the abyss. When she reached the light she found it to be a ring. “Liz!” she began to scream for she recognized it as hers. Picking up the ring and turning she shrieked in astonishment. A cold ghostly white figure appeared before her.

“Calm down Jade Magician, I am Gonzo; I can take you  to your friends. We have to hurry. You shouldn’t be here.”

Before she could respond she found herself in a large  bright room, the light hurting her eyes. She was tackled by someone, she was ready to fight until she realized it was Liz.

“Jade Magician, I believe you will need this”, said

Gonzo, handing her a necklace with a green pendant. “You bear the wrist of roses, you are the Jade Magician. You’ve been hearing voices, am I right? This will help.”

“Goldenflame, this is yours,” he handed me…well…it  was a stick. What do I need a stick for?

“And you,” he looked at Adam. “You are a mistake, but  this is yours all the same,” he handed Adam a long blade with intricate depictions of what looked to be dragons. “Well now then, you should be on your way.”

“But we don’t know how to get back, we don’t even  know where we are,” I said.

“Good bye, good luck and don’t come back. If you have  any questions try the internet, I hear that’s all the rage now.”

There was a blinding light and a tingling feeling like  pins and needles. My vision was blurry but I could make out a dark blob. “What are you doing?” The words blurred together.

After they had been repeated several times, I actually  understood what was going on. The blob turned into a face and with the face came the words,

“What are you doing here?” It was the security guard from earlier. I groaned. My head felt like an anvil. The rest of the gang was just waking up. I pulled on Carmen dragging her to her feet,

“Come on, we have to go.”

“What are you doing here!” he demanded more loudly,  he was starting to get angry. Liz and Adam were on their feet and we were all racing towards the exit. Luckily the security guard was too lazy to bother chasing us.
