Briefly, and the last detail while on the subject of longevity, it’s not only about how many years you get while inhabiting your current body, but according to many rumors or myths I’ve heard associated with us cats, we get 9 lives of varying amounts of years to be wandering around the big extended territories! It appears that this belief varies a bit according to the source, with some human groups saying we come back maybe 6 or 7 times instead of 9. Whatever the case, is that some cool kind of folklore or what!
What do you think? Do you like the idea, I mean, if it applied to you too? Would you be excited about having the opportunity to be plopped into other bodies again and again? This would give you more chances to maybe get all the problem areas cleaned up from your past performances and development so as to be on the road to perfection, step by step, or life by life, as the case may be. Does that turn you on, or maybe make you feel a little nervous?
What I wonder though is if I would come out as Freddy the Cat each time. Or would that only be for the present, and in the next round, I’d be a Fluffy, or a Frisky, or a Rudy, or something like that? I mean, 9 repetitions of Freddy doesn’t seem too bad to me considering my pretty good looks, my overall friendly personality, and the respectable kitty schooling that I was so lucky to receive from both my mama cat and my more formal classroom studies. But I get the feeling that it doesn’t work like that.
Us cats are all well informed on the mythology surrounding our species, but unfortunately, we haven’t been able to get access to any verifiable details on this area of interest. Frustrating, huh?
It’s like Christmas time, when you see the presents with your name on them (Freddy, Freddy, and another one for Freddy!) lazily hanging out under some tree they brought inside your house. In the suspenseful wait until the day itself arrives, you are left impatiently wondering what might be hidden inside all those differently shaped and nicely wrapped boxes.
Do you see my point? Maybe we’re just like those differently shaped and wrapped boxes with these 9 lives of ours, with something surprising and unique inside each one. What do you think?
I guess I’ll have to leave it at that. Fact or fiction, myth or reality, it’s at least an intriguing thought to reflect on when you want to give your mind some exercise to keep it strong and healthy.
Yeah, Freddy the Cat, coming back on stage at life’s theater for eight encore performances! Personally, I’m completely in favor of that option if it were to come true. What a golden opportunity!
