Cat Tale 24: Mother Nature Knows Best

You know, after reflecting more deeply on living to be really old, maybe it’s better in general to just sort of hang around until I make the averages in terms of age. At that point, I could conclude that I’ve done okay, and then not be worried about extending it a whole lot more.

By doing that, I wouldn’t have to get stressed out about an endless assortment of future potential problems, discomforts, and challenges. When my time was up to move on, I would sincerely thank Mother Nature for being so kind to have given me this opportunity to spend a little while in a small part of her vast and beautiful territories, and then I would simply fade away peacefully.

Hmmm. But maybe that’s not an option to do things in that way. I sure hope so though. Wouldn’t that be nice?

Before changing subjects, there is one little detail with this age thing that does get my curiosity aroused. Why do the females get 2 more years on average than us males! You know what I mean, right? Us males are limited to around 12 to 14 years of a normal lifespan, while our much appreciated and cherished counterparts typically end up with 14 to 16 years.

I suppose there are all kinds of theories and explanations for the previous, so perhaps best to leave this subject alone. Mother Nature knows best, and we should put our trust in her wisdom.

Upon considering the whole situation more, I think it’s better to simply be happy for those males or females who are granted a few more ticks on the lifetime clock as long as the quantity of the years doesn’t affect too negatively the quality of this extension. Quantity is great, but quantity without quality, from a broader point of view, has limited value, wouldn’t you say?

Okay, how about this? Why don’t we just feel fortunate to be alive in general, and enjoy each and every day of our terrestrial existence. That sounds like a winner to me!
