Millicent Louise Deming began modeling as a teenager. She was
-in addition to being a talented actress on the radio- was crowned Junior of the Winter Mode Show of 1947, Miss Tele-Color of 1950, Hostess of the Garde Musical Tea of 1950, and Hostess of the Burbank on Parade Talent Contest of 1951. She founded Deming Modeling School at 1600 N. La Brea Ave in 1952 while doing gigs at fashion shows. She is known by contemporary audiences as one of the models on Queen for a Day.
In the 1960's, her career continued to flourish. She was crowned Miss Metals -where she wore a $1,500 stainless steel dress- by the Western Metal Exposition and the American Society of Metals and Queen of the Los Angeles Boat Show, both in 1963. As she reached her 40's, she settled in Pasadena, California where she raised three children while managing a successful career in real estate. I’ve had several conversations with her, and she’s sharp, witty, and tech-savvy.
