Although she is probably best remembered as a showgirl at The Tropicana Hotel who later married Bing Crosby's son Philip, Sandra was one of the rare brunettes who frequently competed in pageants across California. She competed in Miss Van Nuys, Miss Sherman Oaks, and Miss Studio City before being crowned Miss San Fernando Valley and Queen of the Do-It- Yourself Show in May 1957. As of 2022, she is retired in Sherman Oaks, California and married to singer Andy Kim. She is good friends with Myrna Hansen, who was Miss U.S.A of 1953 and an actress.
