Born as Charlotte Lander (1927-1996) in Los Angeles, California, Charlotte was a popular model because of her long legs, towering height of 6', and slim figure. She was also phenomenally talented.
Her passion for the theater led to her helping found -with her husband David Alpert- The Players' Ring, a production company that remained active in doing stage productions. Charlotte starred in several of their plays including I Love Lydia and Once in a Lifetime, both of which won critical acclaim.
As far as modeling went, she was crowned Miss Beverly Hills in 1947 while studying at the University of California, Los Angeles.
She was later crowned Queen of the Truck Show at the Pan Pacific Auditorium in 1950 by Chrysler Corporation. Another passion of hers was dance, which she began learning as a teenager. She even choreographed and performed a solo called
"Zamba" while in high school. Sadly, she peaked too soon and wasn't heard from again. She died on March 14, 1996, survived by her daughter (Deborah) and ex-husband (David Alpert), who was an actor as well. She was posthumously featured in Filmfax, a popular magazine.
