WHAT IS PAST LIFE HYPNOTIC REGRESSION THERAPY?
Past life hypnotic regression therapy is a technique which involves the use of hypnosis to help clients or patients recover memories or details of their former incarnations. A professional practitioner is often called a hypnotherapist. However it needs to be emphasized that not every session ends up being a success. Even though the hypnotherapist may possess the necessary skills and methods, the level of success of a past life regression depends very much on the effort of each subject.
The regression therapy works on the premise that our subconscious mind holds the memories of our recent and distant past, including previous lifetimes. Once the subject is has been put into a stage of consciousness called the alpha state, the person will then likely be able to retrieve portions of his past memories. This recollection is usually vivid and it is as though the person is reliving the past moments, today. Certain people who have undergone such a regression were even able to determine the specific year of that moment. It is also not uncommon for people to recall their death scenes, during these hypnotic sessions. Interestingly, prior knowledge of reincarnation is not a necessity for a successful regression.
In most cases, people who undergo past life regression want to understand if their present situation or dilemma in their current lifetime is caused by events that took place in the past i.e. past karma. There have been many testimonials which reveal that past life encounters/events are the root causes of a person’s present inexplicable fear, suffering and/or pain in one’s physical body. Frequently, when the reason is obtained, the respective phobia or pain subsides accordingly. Also, delving into past lifetimes may help reveal a person’s life path e.g. purpose in life. One of the highly rated books on such a topic is “Many Lives, Many Masters” by Dr. Brian Weiss. The book centers on his patient Catherine and her many sessions of hypnotherapy. Suffice to say the information unraveled from those regressions is both comforting and profound. Intriguingly, it also offers loving messages and timeless wisdom from the Other Side to help with our living in this 3-D world of ours.

WHAT IS NEAR-DEATH-EXPERIENCE (NDE)?
The phrase near-death-experience (NDE) was coined by Dr. Raymond Moody as a reference to the clinical death experiences featured in his much acclaimed book entitled “Life After Life”. These experiences pertain to people who somehow managed to regain consciousness after their hearts stop functioning for a period time. Upon recovery the survivors were able to provide fascinating insights into what happened immediately after the moment of passing over.
Since the book was published, similar cases that surfaced later were also described using such a term. Interestingly many of such cases share common experiences and the following are such examples:

It was estimated in Near-Death research studies carried out years ago, that millions of people had encountered NDE all around the world. Today, there is even an International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS) for those who wish to obtain more information on such a phenomenon. NDE is considered as another proof that human consciousness does survive bodily death. Thus, fear of it is counter-productive as such feelings only hinder one from fully participating in life. The truth that life is eternal is liberating and sets one free from any limitation of expressions.

WHO ARE MEDIUMS?
A medium is generally a person who acts as an intermediary between the spirits from the other dimension and the people living in this physical world. Such a person is blessed with a ‘gift’ which allows him/her to hold a two-way communication with the inhabitants of the spiritual realm. The psychic abilities of a medium may vary and these correspond to a human being’s five senses:

It is important to note that a medium may possess more than one gift i.e. a medium maybe a clairvoyant as well as a clairaudient. Also, the above classification is by no means exhaustive. For example, certain mediums are able to practice transfiguration, whereby an image of the face of the ‘deceased’ appears over the face of the medium. Accordingly the voice of the medium changes to that of the departed soul. However, this form of medium practice is rare.
Spiritual beings vibrate on a higher frequency than us in human forms, thus for communication to take place, the medium has to raise his frequency whereas the spirit has to lower his until a connection is made. This is somewhat like using a radio to tune into a particular frequency of a radio station. According to the mediums, these communications sap their energy and thus, they limit the number of readings they do within a day.
Since everything in this world is made up of energy including thought forms, mediums have explained that lightning during thunderstorms affect their spirit communication, as this constitutes a form of energy disruption. Another salient point which mediums often reiterate is that they do not have control over who will appear in their readings. So, it might or might not be the spirit whom the sitter/client wishes to communicate with. Nevertheless, focus should be on the message that is delivered rather than the messenger.
