NEON CITY
Alone I trod the streets of this neon city,
A stranger among other strangers
And sought some human retreat
In a jungle of concrete and glass.
None of humankind walked here.
Only a blind herd entombed by their greed
And their vacant eyes reflected the neon lies
Which had enslaved their souls.
People:
Will you turn a moment from your neon desire
If Nature should utter her final judgment,
And cleanse this wasteland with fire?
