AGAIN I SEE YOUR EYES

Desire and death are lovers united.

Idle dreams tarry upon this night
And stir ancient wounds deep.
Pain thought buried and dead,
But now found to live again.

Fool!
Dare not disturb this slumber
Nor stir old needs to life
For Nature’s cruel wind will rise
And reap a harvest of pain,
Searing the heart with desperate longings,

Crushing dreams and hurling them as dust

Into the void,
The starless void where first desire was born,

The airless night where the Eternal Breath

First knew desire’s death.
