"The Lord of the Waves and Waters”

Libra - Scorpio

Fire of Water

DESCRIPTION AND SYMBOLISM

The King of Cups sits on his throne holding a scepter in his left hand and a cup in his left. His throne is grey and constructed of solid rock with a headrest shaped as a sea shell. Because of its weigh and solidity, the throne floats easily upon the waters. The King sits in the middle of a turbulent sea and appears about to dip his foot into the energetic waters that surround him.  Around his neck he wears a fish amulet and in the background is portrayed a sea creature jumping out of the waves as well as a ship trying to make headway as it sails upon the tumultuous seas. The King wears a deep blue outer garment accented with a bright yellow cloak with  red  trim and a  red scarf over his right shoulder. On his right hand he appears to be wearing a signet ring, which, along with the scepter, is a symbol of his royal authority. In his left hand he holds a large golden cup alluding to the depths of his emotional sensitivity towards others. The King of Cups is open to all who approach him and treats those who enter his life with kindness and consideration while exercising his royal powers in a compassionate and sensitive manner.
