Chapter 8

GAIN MOMENTUM

Think Big/ Start small. Thats my motto. The reason why most people fail or never get started on anything is because they get too overwhelmed!

You have to start small. Whenever you want to get started on a new venture like starting a new diet and setting goals, you should start small. I know you have big goals and aspirations and thats great, you should! But trying to accomplish those goals can be an overwhelming experience. Thats why starting somewhere small and working your way up your success ladder is the way to go.

Lets say your main goal is that you want to get back in shape. Instead of getting overwhelmed with having to workout everyday and totally change your diet by eating perfectly, you could take this approach: Start with a three day a week structured workout routine and just replace certain meals with healthy, quality food. You can even add a healthy snack in between one of your meals or even just improve your breakfast.

For me, starting and owning a business was something I always wanted. Becoming a gym owner seemed like a daunting task, so I started small. Eventually I moved into a starter studio for a few years, which eventually led to the gym, I own now which was my ultimate goal!

I started small and little by little hit each goal. I didn’t get too overwhelmed. Are you ready to start knocking off your small goals to eventually reach the big ones? Give yourself a very short-term goal. Prepare for that goal and see it through. Once you hit your first short term goal, which was easily achievable, enjoy and identify with the result. This will begin a momentum, which will allow your focus to build stronger and stronger.
