COURT RESEARCHER
OVERVIEW
Court researchers perform research of various court documents from available public records. The type of research that is done is dependent upon the needs of the client. The work is quite simple. It generally involves retrieving the requested information from the court records needed by the client and entering the information into a database or spreadsheet software.

WORK SCHEDULE
There are no set work hours. You have the flexibility to collect court house records anytime during court house hours .
HOW MUCH YOU CAN EXPECT TO EARN
The average researcher earns $10-$15 per hour. Experienced researchers earn $25 per hour and up.
GETTING PAID
Pay dates and methods vary from company to company but most offer direct deposit and pay once or twice a month.
DRAWBACKS
1. There may not be many open opportunities in certain cities
2. Opportunities may be limited if you live in rural area
3. The work can be inconsistent
4. You won’t get paid for your mileage or drive time to and from the courthouse
REQUIREMENTS TO GET STARTED
Some companies prefer to hire only experience court researchers, companies that hire inexperienced researchers generally offer free training. Basic requirements include:

CAUTION
Watch out for sites that charge a fee for starter kits or certifications. You don’t need a starter kit or certificate to become a court researcher.
