Be Wary of What You Surround Yourself With

“You can’t soar with the eagles if you continue to scratch with the turkeys.”

— Zig Ziglar

“Get around the right people. Associate with positive, goal-oriented people who encourage and inspire you.”

— Brian Tracy

“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”

— Jim Rohn

“Being wary of what you surround yourself with” is a lot like the thought behind “You are what you eat.” You are what you surround yourself with. Why do friends tend to have a lot in common? Because we like to be around other people who share interests similar to our own. It is a comforting feeling. The chances that a long-term relationship will flourish increase when both partners share the same strong desires. If you hang out around people who do bad things, it increases the potential of you being involved in bad things. If you hang out around people who like to exercise, it increases the likelihood that you will start to exercise more. If you started spending a lot of time in the library, you’d probably start reading more. So if you want to be successful, you must learn from successful people and be around more people who share your desire to be successful. This will dramatically increase your chances for achieving success.

Look at your life and see if you are surrounding yourself with things and people who will help you achieve your goals and dreams. If you’re serious about wanting to create and live your dream life and achieve your ultimate goals, you should pay close attention to what you are surrounding yourself with.
