Bobby made sure his spear was ready to use as Roxy swam through the middle. A couple of jabs and nothing. The sh darted out of the way.
Then Roxy made another pass through the center. Bobby concentrated, saw a large sh and plunged the spear in a big sh. It was struggling on the end of the spear but Bobby was determined to get this sh! He slid off the top of Roxy and grabbed the sh hugging it so it could not get away. The fork had done its job as the sh nally went lifeless and Bobby climbed back up on Roxy tired and yelling!
“I got him! I got the sh!”
Roxy sensed the
shing trip was over and headed back to Bobby's temporary home. She swam up to the shore in front of the old hut and Bobby got off her back running to the big rock on the beach.
The rock was beginning to get hot so he quickly cleaned the two sh and laid them on the rock in strips to dry out. On the big one he saved part of it for lunch. In a couple of hours the rock would be very hot and he could cook some chunks of the sh with coconut juice and bits of coconut. He wrapped the sh in a banana leaf Why not eat bananas?
and placed it in the hut out of the sun.
Bobby went back out to the water with his spear. Swimming out he was realizing it was getting easier to see and distances were getting more precise. He felt more in control underwater. It was getting clearer it seemed. He dove down and saw a big sh but darted away quickly.
Under a large rock he could see antennae sticking out with a large pincher trying to get food. He swam straight down as fast as he could and thrust the spear under the rock. He heard a clicking sound and the spear jumping around! He reached under and grabbed the lobster and pulled it out struggling. Bobby held on tight and swam to the surface.
“What a day!” He yelled.
Snickers!
