Selling Physical Products

Everyone thinks that to make money on fiverr that all you have to do is to sell

services or eBooks, well you don’t have to – you can easily sell physical products

and actually charge extra (Within set limits) to ship them.

Clearly you will need to pick what you sell wisely to keep postal costs down. Also

always choose something you can put in an envelope that fits in a post box as this

save time queue to post stuff, which will get annoying after a while – and time is

money so all that waiting eats in to your profits.

One Example: -‐

Laminating – If you already have a laminator at home then it’s much cheaper for

someone to pay you $5 than it is for them to buy a laminating machine and

pouches. It utilises your asset if you have one already.

Choosing A Family Of Products To Sell

The key to bringing in lots of sales is to sell services that are complimentary to

each other, as over a period of time you will get to build a reputation in your

specialist area and this will result in more sales, with even fiverr’s customer

service giving users the odd referral!

The advantage in selling a family of products is that you can cross sell things to

the buyer by offering other highly relevant gigs. Now if you really want to boost

your sales you should take my tip and put a link to your other gigs in your

“Thank You” message that you send out when you deliver your order.

An example of this is: -‐

“Thanks again for your order. Please feel free to check out my other gigs at

http://www.fiver.com/yourfiverrusername” -‐ Making sure to replace

yourfiverrusername with your real fiverr username, then make sure the link

works by testing it before you send the mail.

Most people won’t hunt out your other gigs, or even bothering looking through

them, but deliver good work and send a link with your order and they are much

more likely to look through your other gigs and order one.

They key to success is offering complimentary ones, doing this will result in far

more sales than offering 20 unrelated gigs will.

The more your products are similar to each other the more you will be likely to

sell more than one gig to people and the more you will be seen as a specialist in

your field. Build credibility by over delivering, particularly if it’s advice that you

are selling.

Creating Your Gig

Okay now if you’ve taken note of all of the above (I don’t make any apologies for

the depth it goes in to as all of it is relevant in setting up your fiverr account to

get the most possible sales – which is why you bought this guide after all)

Well by now you’ve probably already got a gig in mind to create, and your first

one could do well or it could do nothing – typically you can expect it to take a few

days for your first orders to start to come through. However make sure you

check the email linked to your fiverr account every few hours until that

sometimes elusive first order comes through.

It’s vital you keep checking regularly as if you forget and get an order but have

set a 24 hour turnaround time, then you could find that the deadline has already

past and you have been given negative feedback before you’ve even handled

your first order!

Clearly if this happens then it’s a disaster and uphill to get back on track. So don’t

let the above scenario happen to you.

Creating your gig requires you to do the following, but NOTE I cover all of these

in more detail in the coming pages, these are just the basics you will need to do: -‐

Create a punchy gig title in less than 80 characters

Select a gig category and a gig sub-‐category – make sure you choose wisely!

Add an image – this needs to be a maximum of 682 pixels wide x 459 pixels high,

and a maximum of 2Mb. This is probably one of the most important aspects of

your gig

Create your gig “description” this is the sales pitch and has to be less than 1,200

characters

Create your “tags” – you can choose a maximum of 5, separated by commas

Select the duration – the number of days you are going to take to turn around the

gig

Create the “Instructions for buyers” – You need to ask the buyer for all the info

you need from them in less than 450 characters. Which you may find is not a lot

if your gig requirements are complex

Add a video – This needs to be between 10 and 30 seconds although you will find

a lot of old video and top rated sellers with videos that go on for several minutes.

Just be patient as sometimes fiverr is not a level playing field…

Okay now all of the above probably sounds really simple to create, right?. .Or

does it….
