FEMI

So this is goodbye.

CHIOMA

Yeah, I guess this is goodbye.

FEMI

I wish I met you under a different and lighter circumstance. Maybe things could have happened differently between the both of us.

CHIOMA

Maybe.

Femi nods his head in affirmation. He stretches his hand for a shake, but Chioma goes in for an embrace. Still in the embrace of each other, Chioma speaks in a whisper:

CHIOMA (CONT’D)

Thank you very much for everything. And I think you should go work with your father.

The two let go of each other.

FEMI (feeling depressed)

I don’t think he wants to see me again.

CHIOMA

That’s a lie. Don’t underestimate the power of a father’s love.

CHIOMA (CONT’D)

I think here is holding you back. With the kind of potentials you have, you should be building something that your children will take over. You’re so smart. Don’t waste it all here. And you’re not walking in anyone’s shadow. With your kind of light, there cannot be any shadow around you.

Femi cheers up. He pulls out from his left trouser pocket, Chioma’s mobile-phone, nicely concealed in a transparent waterproof bag, and hands it over to her.

FEMI

I believe this is yours.

Chioma receives it with a smile.
