Waitresses are going about -- one with a tray of well-covered meal, another with a bucket of EXPENSIVE champagne, and one standing in front of a table, jotting on a piece of paper, the order of the Couple seated before her.

They are dressed in a white long sleeve blouse, a black monkey jacket on top, and a tight thought-provoking skirt that reveals the curves of their hips and buttocks.

We arrive at the table where Chioma and Uche are seated under a beautiful chandelier hanging from the ceiling. Chioma’s red purse glitters, as it reflects bright lights from the chandelier.

The tables where Chioma and Emeka are seated with their significant other, are IN LINE with each other, separated by a table, in such a way that neither Chioma nor Emeka can see the face of each other’s partner.

Uche is staring at Chioma like a lottery ticket with all five winning numbers.

UCHE

You look beautiful tonight.

Uche purred with a smile, expectant of her to accept the marriage proposal he’d planned for tonight. Chioma is irritated by the sight of a couple kissing nearby.

CHIOMA Gosh, I hate PDAs!

(looks away in disgust) Must you kiss in public to show everyone that you’re happily in love?

UCHE (angry)

I just told you that you look beautiful, and you’re giving me a lecture on public display of affection.

He raises his both hands up and drops them down quickly in vexation.

UCHE (CONT’D)

Jesus!

Their table is empty. A Waitress is yet to attend to them.

CHIOMA

Oh, I’m so sorry, dear.

She forces traces of smile to her artificial red lips.

CHIOMA (CONT’D)

Thank you.
