FEMI (to Chioma)

Then who’s the mystery person that sent a message to Emeka from your phone, and disappeared? That’s the same person whose finger prints are all over your phone.

FEMI (CONT’D)

And why will the person want to meet with Emeka at the same restaurant?

AYAKPAT (laughs unpleasantly)

There’s more to this story than we know about. But something tells me that it is one sick twisted plot.

Femi’s phone is ringing. He dips his hand into his right trouser pocket and reveals his phone.

FEMI

(to Mr. Ayakpat)

I have to take this, sir. It’s the hospital.

The DPO signals his permission. Femi hits the ANSWER button, and raises the phone to his ear.

FEMI (CONT’D)

Sergeant Kolawole speaking.

Femi listens for a while to the indistinct voice streaming from his phone, and after a few moments of silence, his face is dressed in SHOCK.

FEMI (CONT’D)

Thank you very much, doctor.

He ends the call, and STOICALLY stares at the DPO. He doesn’t seem pleased with the news he has just received over the phone.

AYAKPAT (rudely)

Yes???

FEMI (at attention)

Sorry, sir. The deceased died of suffocation. There is no sign of external or internal injuries, and the blood found all over him doesn’t belong to either him or Chioma.
