FEMI

(bows his head before the DPO)

Thank you, sir!

AYAKPAT

By the way, where’s Chioma?

FEMI

She’s in the INCIDENT ROOM.

AYAKPAT

That woman shouldn’t be felt alone for one minute. Uche is still out there and he could be watching her every move. You shouldn’t let her out of your sight even for a second.

FEMI (at attention)

Yes, sir!

AYAKPAT

She should stay at your house until we arrest that man.

(in Pidgin English)

She be fine girl. You be fine boy. Una fit run show. Femo, femo!

The pair burst out in an UNCONTROLLED laughter.

INT. INCIDENT ROOM, NIGERIA POLICE STATION - SAME TIME

Tega and Kunle are BEHIND the counter, with Kunle flirting with Chioma, and Tega CALMLY whistling Korede Bello’s ‘God Win’ song. Chioma is seated on a white plastic chair few inches before the counter, smiling as Kunle’s words stream into her ears.

KUNLE (to Chioma)

Do you know that you’re a very fine girl? And also a very intelligent girl for that matter.

(pauses for a while)

I want you to be my girlfriend.

Chioma is laughing, not staring at Kunle, but at the main entrance of the building leading to the INCIDENT ROOM.

TEGA

(to Kunle; vexed)

Oya, oya, stop that rubbish. E be like say you no just like yourself.

Common Corporal like you. (MORE)
