CHIOMA’S MOTHER (CONT'D)

Screen Translation:

Jesus!

CHIOMA’S MOTHER (CONT’D)

Since when?

CHIOMA (O.S.) (telephone voice)

That doesn’t matter, mama. What matters is that Uche killed someone and the Police are desperately looking for him. You better start locking your house early and properly because nobody knows when that lunatic will strike again.

CHIOMA’S MOTHER (in panic)

I hope you’re safe oh.

CHIOMA (O.S.) (telephone voice)

Mama, I’m safe. Just make sure you’re safe too. I will talk to you very soon, and tell you everything.

CHIOMA’S MOTHER

Okay, my daughter.

CHIOMA’S MOTHER (CONT’D) (horrified)

I will travel to your aunty’s place in Abuja this night. I’ll be safer there.

CHIOMA (O.S.) (telephone voice)

That’s even better.

Chioma’s Mother throws her phone CARELESSLY on the bed, without bidding farewell to her daughter or disconnecting the call. She HURRIEDLY dashes out of the bedroom in fright.

BACK TO:

INT. MASTER BEDROOM, UCHE’S APARTMENT - CONTINUOUS

Chioma drops the phone, and abandons the dressing table. Femi calls out from outside the bedroom:

FEMI (O.S.)

Who was that?
