FEMI

You have the bed. I have the rug.

CHIOMA (worried)

Are you going to be comfortable? We can sleep on the same bed, as long as you stick to your side of the bed.

Femi is considering the tempting offer, but he summons the strength to turn it down:

FEMI (smiles)

Don’t worry. I will be comfortable.

Chioma makes her way on top of the bed, while Femi strolls to the fluorescent control fastened to the wall. He toggles the switch off.

CHIOMA (screams)

Turn it on!

The light comes on again IMMEDIATELY, with Femi’s hand placed on the switch’s relay.

FEMI

You sleep with the lights on?

CHIOMA (whispers)

Yes???

FEMI Nothing. It’s alright.

(smiles) Good night.

CHIOMA (smiles right back)

Good night.
