Chapter 24

It was back to normal at the White House, and President Barrow worked at his desk in the Oval Office.

Jason entered from one of the doors.

He walked up to the President's desk and leaned over to his ear. "I heard an extremists group just fired a missile at Al-Fulani's mansion," Jason whispered to the President.

"What a shame!" President Barrow replied with a smirk.

"The ceremony will begin in one hour Mister President," Jason added while he stepped away from the President's ear.

"Great," he replied to Jason, who nodded then walked away and left the office.

President Barrow returned to his paperwork.

An hour later, President Barrow was in the Press Room where Kristen, Albert, Britney, and numerous news reporters waited for the ceremony to begin.

"I would like to present Miss Britney Cooper and Mister Albert Taylor the Presidential Medal of Freedom, as a small token of my appreciation for their acts of bravery," President Barrow said to the crowd of reporters.

A White House staff member who held two small fancy wooden boxes walked alongside Kristen.

Kristen opened one of the boxes and removed a medal from it. She walked up to Albert, who knelt down to her level. Kristen placed the medal around his neck then hugged him.

"Thank you for saving my grandpa's life," she said then gave him a kiss on his cheek.

Kristen and the staff member walked over to Britney. The staff member opened one of the boxes and removed a medal from it. Kristen took the medal. Britney knelt down to her level. Kristen placed the medal around her neck then hugged her.

"Thank you for saving my grandpa's life," she said then gave her a kiss on her cheek.

President Barrow shook Albert and Britney's hand.

The news media snapped tons of pictures.

Kristen tugged on Britney's dress. She knelt down.

"I think you two should get married," Kristen whispered in her ear.

Britney smiled while she glanced up at Albert, and that thought had crossed her mind during their wild adventure.

She reached over and held his hand while more pictures were taken.

A year had passed, and life went back to normal for Albert and Britney.

He found a new job with a prestigious Architectural firm in San Francisco after they saw him on the national news.

He had a beautiful office with a great view of San Francisco.

Albert worked on a building design at a drafting board. His hair was back to being short and styled. He looked like he loved life again. His phone on his desk rang.

He walked over to his desk where a wedding picture of Albert and Britney was near the phone. After receiving the medal from the President, Albert settled in San Francisco and started dating Britney. They were married six months ago.

"Albert Taylor," he answered the call.

In the FBI office, Britney had her old job back. She sat at her desk and was restricted to office work since she was four months pregnant.

"Hey handsome," she said.

"Hey, beautiful," he replied.

"I was thinking of taking my handsome husband out for some lunch?"

"I would love that," he replied.

"Great. I'll meet you in fifteen minutes," she replied.

"I'll be waiting," he replied.

"Love you," she said with a loving tone.

"I love you too," he replied.

She hung up her phone, grabbed her purse, and walked out of her office.

Way up in heaven was a building that contained a large room call Earth Cam.

The room was filled with hundreds of consoles where Angels sat and watched "Earth Cam" monitors.

Near the consoles were large windows that looked down upon Earth. Then every once in a while, a bright flash happened outside the window, and then it got dim. This meant that an Angel was helping out someone down on Earth.

Bob and Wendy were now Angels and sat at a console and looked at the monitor. That monitor showed Britney and Albert while they walked down a sidewalk holding hands.

Bob and Wendy high-fived each other while an older Angel walked up behind them. The older Angel looked satisfied with what he witnessed on the monitor.

"Great job on bringing those two together. It's time to move on," he told Bob and Wendy.

They got up and walked away with the Angel and knew that this means moving up to a higher level in heaven.
