Many of my nearest and dearest, upon reading Soul Journaling - Lessons from the Past, have commented that it was difficult to hear of any issues in a marriage that, in their opinion, was a marriage of soul mates. I wish to speak to that as I have had time to reflect on the circumstances that led me to write my truth in this book and, subsequently, two others (Soul Journaling – The Journey Continues and Soul Journaling – Saving Atlantis).
I can say with absolute clarity that I would not change anything that led me to write this book - not one tear, not one moment of fear for the future, not a thing. The gift, that this journey has been for me, is absolute. This experience broke my heart wide open and has allowed a light to fill my soul, something for which I am eternally grateful. The exploration of my past lives has given me a much clearer understanding of who I am. I am starting to grow into a perspective of my soul throughout the ages and an understanding of my purpose. I have been asked why anyone would want to know about past lives and my answer is always because it gives us a better understanding of who we are in this incarnation. I know without a doubt that my husband and I are soul mates and that we have chosen to navigate our souls journeys together. I know absolutely that we reincarnate with those souls closest to us over and over again and in different ways. My daughter, for example, has been my daughter in many lifetimes, but has also been my mother, my sister and my friend (and was with me in this story’s lifetime!).
But here is the greatest gift - it matters not what you may have done in a previous life, who you might have been or what you may have experienced. We are given new choices with each subsequent lifetime. Our soul chooses the situations that will lead to greater clarity and growth. Our free will is at play throughout the entire process. And sometimes we choose difficult situations for the growth to which those circumstances may lead us.
If you still have doubts…
Now here is a different perspective for those of you who may not believe in past lives - if all you can wrap your head around is the life that you have in the here and now. Can we agree on a common ground belief that we all have free will? If so, then maybe what we all need to understand is that we can "reincarnate" in every new moment that we live. Take each new day and decide for yourself how you want to live, who you want to be, and how you want to be remembered by those around you. Don't we all have the power to re-define and re-invent ourselves every day of our lives?
Namaste,
Karen
