Chapter 31

Two months before the wedding all eighteen members of the bridal party gathered at Jason’s place to meet the various people who would make this wedding successful. There were meeting on that day with Cheryl, the tailors, dressmakers, florists, the baker, Décor designer, the caterer and the transport coordinator.

Everyone was shown the sketches and the detail for their outfits. They were in awe and excited at the designs and the colors. They all thought that they were magnificent.

The groomsmen were measured first, then the bridesmaids, followed by the flower girls, pageboy, and the maid of honour. The bride was next to get measured, then the best man, father giver and Jason himself.

After everyone got measured Ronald the tailor showed the men the type of shoe chosen to wear to compliment the outfit. They were told to go to Weiser’s Footwear and Detail and ask for Andre’s. Each one would choose the shoe which fit best. They would also be given a pair of socks and sign the invoice. They would leave with the pair of shoes.

Next would be a visit to the Men’s Room. Here they would ask for Renee. They were to choose and try a blue mandarin shirt. They would complete the process similarly by signing the invoice and taking the shirt. The shirt was to be taken to Ronald as soon as possible. He would apply the blue band around the collar. Final fitting time was in three weeks.

The females were supposed to visit Joann’s Shoe world. On reaching there they were instructed to ask for Lynette. They would fit their shoes and sign the invoices.

Jason and Raquel met with the florist and the décor designer simultaneously. They sorted out all of the fine details. Both of these professionals would be on island one week before the big day. Once there they were to finalize the logistics of the plan. They discussed the flowers in addition to the seating arrangements.

Once they were complete Jason and Raquel met with the caterer and specialist cake maker. They discussed the requirements for the refreshments immediately after the wedding ceremony. The caterer briefly inquired about the wedding reception. Jason elucidated telling her about the prior arrangement with the Food Cluster informing her of the irresistible package which they had proposed. He immediately nodded his head in agreement. Alicia the cake specialist was also mandated to be on island one week before the wedding. She nodded in agreement.

Finally they met with the transport coordinator. Allison was a true professional at her art. She had done her research in addition to making some calls to some key contacts on BVI. Once she laid out her plan Jason and Raquel were in total agreement. Raquel gave her a list of all the persons involved and their contact information. They asked her to keep in touch every three days updating them of anything which was included in the detail but was necessary.

Jason explained that there would be a private chartered flight for all involved. Allison smiled thanking them and further explained how she would hold things together until the wedding day. Allison was also invited to the wedding and was introduced to Cheryl. In tandem they would work together to ensure that everything came off without a hitch.

Jason and Raquel would be on BVI around three weeks before the wedding. They had to go for counselling sessions, secure a marriage license, pay the deposits and accomplish a pre-wedding photo shoot. Satisfied that everything was set, Raquel wrapped up all her meetings and went for a swim with her boo.

When they finished they returned to Jason’s place. They had a drink and retired to bed. They were asleep pretty quickly as it had been a long day, and the swim had zapped most of their energy.

At about 4:00 a.m. Jason awoke and went to pee. When he returned Raquel missing his warmth had also awakened. She too went to pee. Getting back in bed they both embraced and kissed. Then they had sweet sex. When they finished, they showered. Jason helped Raquel to pack. They had breakfast after, and it was a delicious meal.

“Well breakfast should be the best meal as it starts your day,” said Raquel.

“And for your journey it does prepare you for endurance.”

“Thanks Jason. I am appreciative of all you’ve done for me. I love you boo.”

“I love you too Raquel,” said Jason. They embraced and kissed.

Within thirty minutes they were on their way to the airport. Once they arrived Jason drew alongside the curb. Jason took her luggage from the boot of his vehicle and placed it on the curb. I’ll be back, he said. He went to the car park. In the meantime Raquel wheeled her luggage to the check in counter.

“Will that be all Ms. Rosemond,” said the airline agent? “Sure,” said Raquel. “Is the flight on time?”

“Yes it is,” said the agent. “Here’s your passport, boarding pass, baggage claim and E.D. card. Have a safe flight, enjoy your day and feel free to come again.”

“Thank you,” said Raquel. “Have a great day too.”

Jason had returned as she was leaving the counter. “All done honey.”

“Yes my dear.”

“Would you like to go for a sandwich?”

“Sure we can love.”

They went to Rituals Coffee Shop and had a turkey breast sandwich each along with juice. When they had finished, they exited Rituals.

Raquel and Jason then embraced for a while finishing with a kissed. They said goodbye and Raquel proceeded to clear security and immigration. Have gone through with a breeze she went to the departure area and sat quietly. Whipping out her tablet she read the daily newspaper and checked her email.

Her flight was announced soon after. Turning off the tablet they got up and proceeded to the boarding gate. After showing the agent her documents, Raquel proceeded as directed to the aircraft. Greeted by the stewardess she made her way to a window seat on the left of the aircraft. In a few moments the door was closed and she could feel the plane depart from the gate. They taxied and in no time they were airborne.

Raquel looked through the window at the island which would soon be her home. She shed a tear, but it was one of happiness.
