Chapter 42

CHERYL’S WEDDING

Cheryl and Andre had a simple yet elegant wedding. They got married at the Grenadian by REX Resorts. They were a little more than fifty invited guests. The hotel provided a wedding cake as well as a couple cases of Martinellis Apple Cider.

They had arranged for a local priest who was a friend of theirs to perform the marriage ceremony. The wedding party was made up of nine persons, a pageboy, flower girl, three groomsmen, three bridesmaids and the maid of honor.

The ladies were dressed in turquoise blue trimmed with fuchsia. The men wore black trousers, white shirts, a pink tie and a turquoise waist coat. The maid of honor and the flower girl were dressed in purple trimmed with fuchsia. The page boy and the groom were dressed black trousers, black and pink waistcoats, white shirts and a turquoise tie. Cheryl was stunning in a white dressed with subtle trimmings of fuchsia.

The ballroom at the Grenadian by REX Resorts was tastefully decorated complete with balloon columns, flowers and streamers. A small band comprised of junior musicians from the Vendomme RC School. They were brilliant playing a beautiful and refreshing assortment of music as directed by Ngozi Alexander.

The ceremony lasted a little over thirty minutes. Persons then swiftly cleared and re-arranged the ballroom. The newlyweds were on the grounds for photos whilst the guest enjoyed some light cocktails. Once finished they re- entered the ballroom which was now setup for dinner and dancing. It was a sight to behold.

At the entrance guests greeted and congratulated the new couple. This activity continued for a while. Once it was completed the guests were seated and the formalities got underway. The speeches were brief but full of humour and realistic. Each speaker received tremendous applause once they had finished.
